The Other Gallery – Photography & Performance

Creative Residency
In this residency, my aesthetic research included the intersection of personal public history narrative using digital photo collage and performance art. The Arctic Journal Reading Performance included reading my hand writing from 1980-82 in travel journals written as I travelled in six central arctic communities as a preventative health educator. I also created a body of work in photomontage title Ecology of Narrative Space that was exhibited at The Other Gallery with two videos, Golden Pond and Reversal.

The intended purpose of creative residencies is to provide the luxury of time and space to create new works, research innovative ideas and experiment with different techniques and modes of production. The facilities in the Banff National Park surrounded by the awe-inspiring Rocky Mountains, accommodates the printmaker, painter, ceramist, photographer, and sculptor. Artists are encouraged to explore regardless of primary discipline.
