The “Ground Zero”, polaroid emulsion lift series (16) are each one of a kind. The transparent derma-like photo emulsion with te image is separated from the backing. Using my fingers the emulsion is pushed into organic shapes on tinted water colour paper. Each is preciously floated in a shadow box frame 10 x 10 inches. They evoke the sense of human vulnerability and loss experienced following the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Centre.
