The Business of Art for Canadian Visual Artists, Third Edition, c 2005. Available at Rails End Gallery. I wrote this textbook because my students and I needed an artist’s perspective that crossed commercial, non profit and public gallery sectors unique to Canada. While it references mandates of art organizations in Canada, it is not written from the perspective of any one of these organization’s mandate. The aim is to assist artists to identify and access the appropriate market place for their art; and to gain insights to the interconnections between their studio practice and the maze of players and mandates that comprise the visual arts industry in Canada.
