ARCTIC CRISIS: Part 1

Artist Talk: Inspiration and Process
Reviews: 1

Arctic Crisis c. 2008. Digital photo-collage archival inkjet prints. The first 20 of a potential 130 are shown in a solo exhibition at the Gallery which is part of the annual Ottawa Photography Festival X.
Inspired by Arctic photographs taken nearly thirty-years ago and the new meaning that is brought to them and my personal travel journals when positioned within the contemporary environmental discussions of climate warming. The delicacy of January Arctic twilight and layered transparencies of New York City evoke a sense of fleeting time, fragility and loss, contrasting with the foreboding underlying message relating to the melting of the Arctic. See the Ottawa Photography Festival X Guide.
